de la Vega? Who is this guy???

Welcome to my blog!

"Who is this guy?". I hear this question a lot! In short, I'm a songwriter/producer based out of Toronto, Canada. I've been involved in music since the age of 7 when I started taking piano lessons. From there I went on to play in marching bands, school bands and cover bands. After college, I went on to study recorded music production. Fast forward to today and I'm currently working with some of the top DJ's, artists and producers in North America.

"What are you gonna blog about?". We'll see! One thing I can guarantee you won't find in my blogs is nonsense. I'll be bringing you real experiences as I go from peak to peak - on the grind working to be among the best. Success is a journey and you're welcome to tag along! Every week, every month should be a progression. I'll also be dropping some words of wisdom here and there in hopes that you'll find inspiration. Anything related to who I am, what I do and where I'm going...I'll share.

"Who are some of your musical influences?". The list is too long, but if I was to give you the top 10, in no particular order, it would be: Stevie Wonder, Timbaland, Jodeci, Boyz ][ Men, Kool & The Gang, Prince, Kanye West, Pharrell, Ryan Leslie and Michael Jackson.

Now in case you just came out of a time capsule, in 2009 arguably the greatest artist and entertainer - Michael Jackson - passed away. I can remember watching him on the Grammy Awards back in 1984. People were cheering, dancing, smiling and having a blast! At that moment, I had an urge deep down to impact people the same way through music.

So for my first blog post, here's my piano tribute to MJ. He's brought countless smiles to millions of people. Hopefully at the very least he can smile at this.
